Westby Elementary at the Vernon County Fair

       Our school, Westby Elementary, won "Best in Show" at the fair for our fair panels. The students in the first grade made raccoons for our fair panels, after reading the book The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn.

Writing with Shaving Cream

This afternoon, after Mr. Pederson read us the book, The Dot By: Peter H. Reynolds.  We practice writing letters in shaving cream.  We focused mostly on the letters that have lines going from top to bottom and from left to right. Here are some pictures of the fun we had while learning and practicing letters!

First Day of School

Thank you to all who came to visit our classroom on Thursday night! It was great meeting the students and families who will be joining us for a year of learning and fun. I am anxious to see you all on the first day of school.

My name is Miss Wenman, and I will be posting in this blog periodically as a way to share some of the fun things happening in our room. I am the student teacher that will be helping and learning from Mrs. Servais during this first quarter. I will be graduating in December with a degree in Elementary Education.  This is my first time using a blog, so it will be a learning experience for me. I would like to use a blog in my future classroom, so I thought now would be the perfect time to start. As the school year continues, I will be adding rainy day activities, a book list, and some educational web games to the blog.  I hope you will find them helpful.
